I read a meme the other day that said, “In elementary school, when we would have to read out loud to the class from the textbook, I would literally count the kids in front of me and figure out what section I was reading so I could practice it before it got to my turn… and that is where my anxiety started.” I could have written that meme!

Anxiety has always been something that I have struggled with. Can you relate? As I was reading my Bible this week, this scripture captured my attention:

A person’s anxiety will weigh him down, but an encouraging word makes him joyful.
— Proverbs 12:25

If you’re experiencing any measure of anxiety today, here is an encouraging word to bring wind to your sails:

Consider where you are, and consider where you want to be. God sees you, and you are LOVED, you are VALUED, and you MATTER. Don't let what you see as disqualifying (anxiety) keep you from pressing towards your goal and declaring what is true: There is nothing that you can’t overcome with God on your side! Because of that, you can be confident that the best of your life is ahead of you.

Breathe In. Breathe Out. Now go forward and Slay the Day!
